My Current List of Favorite Travel Blogs

I won’t lie; my travel blog is pretty good. You probably have one, too, if you are here. Although I strive to give you the best practical travel advice, I am not the only travel blogger who is great. It’s true — and this may shock you — I am not an expert in all things travel. What about family travel? No idea. What is it like to travel as a female? Clueless. Hotel information? Just a little. Photography? If that’s what counts, I can turn on my camera. Expert in food? Food expert?

It’s been quite a while since my last post about the best travel blogs out there—the ones that I read. I wanted to highlight some of the blogs I enjoy reading that will help you travel more efficiently, affordably, and intelligently. I feel long overdue in pointing you to some helpful blogs.

Raimee Travel

Raimee is a great new creator. She used to manage this website’s social media, but she has now moved on to her own project. She teaches people how to travel intelligently via amazing videos on Instagram and TikTok. Her website is full of amazing itineraries, travel guides, and advice for young travellers.

27 Travels

Gabi and Shanna, a lesbian pair based in NYC, provide information for vegans and LGBTQ travellers. Of course, they have resources and guides for everyone, but these two topics are their speciality. They share many travel tips and insights that are off the beaten track.

Budget Traveller

Kash is one of the original travel bloggers. He produces a lot of content to help backpackers travel better, more sustainably and more off the beaten track. He is probably the only person that I know who has been to more hostels than me! He is a great writer who knows a lot about travel and people’s wants and needs. As his name implies, he’s all about cheap travel.

Ottsworld

Sherry Ott is another OG travel blog. She provides a wealth of information to adventurous women over forty, making her blog a great resource for travellers of all ages. However, Sherry offers a unique perspective that will be helpful to non-Gen Z or millennials. She has visited over 72 countries and enjoys hiking and other nature-based activities. She even plans travel and organizes small group tours. She is the real thing.

Oneika The Traveller

Onieka’s blog is my favourite because she isn’t afraid to talk about “real” travel or be political. She also discusses racial bias when she travels. She is an Emmy-award-winning host who has visited over 100 countries. Her tips and tricks are very practical. She offers a lot of advice for family travel, as she travels now with her husband and their daughter.

Prince Trave

Ricky has detailed explanations of how to use points and miles and amazing airline breakdowns. He provides detailed descriptions of airline programs and flight experiences. His videos in the cabin are incredible. If you are Canadian, you should especially follow him as he has the best resources for points and mileage in Canada. His travel concierge program can help you make the most of your points.

The Blonde Abroad

Kiersten’s website focuses on the intersection between family and travel. Her blog is my favourite for female travellers. She has been blogging for more than a decade, and her website contains hundreds of pages with helpful tips for female solo travellers who want to travel in style on a budget. She is regularly featured in the media for her travel advice. She runs one of the largest independent tour companies that cater to women travellers.

Never Ending Footsteps

Lauren is one of the most accident-prone travellers I know. When she travels, anything that could go wrong does. She is one of the most unlucky travellers I know. All of her misadventures lead to some incredible travel stories, and her blog is full of funny tales which will keep you entertained for hours. She also provides practical travel tips and breakdowns of her expenses in each location.

Be My Travel Muse

Kristin is a solo female adventurer and my resident travel expert for all things solo. She’s not afraid to explore lesser-known destinations and share her tips along the way. She also takes amazing photos. In recent years, she has been talking a lot about her travels with her children, and she started a service that helps others plan their vacations.

HoneyTrek

Mike and Anne left their jobs in 2012 for a long honeymoon. Eight years later, they are still travelling. They have road-tripped across the US with their campervan, stayed in some of the best glamping locations in the world, and written a book about the ultimate couples’ travel experiences. The couple is an adventurous pair with a focus on the outdoors and sustainability. They share tips for living in an RV and couples travel.

Chubby Diaries

Jeff Jenkins runs Chubby Diaries, which focuses on plus-size travel. His blog is a direct response to body shaming and offers resources and inspiration for travellers of all sizes and shapes. His positivity and optimism are contagious, and he is never afraid to tell it how it is. Jeff goes above and beyond to make travel more inclusive. He is an amazing guy who creates great content.

Alex Wonderland

Alex and I have been friends for years. We met in New York City. Alex, the author of this article about diving in Koh TAO, is also a photographer and scuba specialist. Her blog is full of great photos, diving tips, travel tales, and biting humour. It’s also hard not to like her blog because I was involved in choosing the name. She runs her own dive tours and retreats around the globe!

One mile at a time

Another of the top points and miles sites in the world. This website breaks down airline news, point deals, program updates and airline reviews. This is the site for you if you are looking for a website that gives you straightforward information on points and mileage. Ben, the founder, also founded Point, which is the best place to find award seats.

Hey Ciara

Ciara is an independent female traveller and shares her honest travel reflections. She has been featured in many major travel magazines and has a loyal following of readers who appreciate her honest style and honesty about solo travel for black women. She is a great writer who creates lots of useful and practical content. So there you go! This is my current list of travel blogs that I enjoy reading (other than mine). This list is constantly changing, so I will be updating it as time goes by! New travel blogs are launched every day. Read these blogs, have fun, learn and be inspired.
